The 9th International Conference on Culture, Language and Literature, or ICCLL 2023, sponsored by Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) and hosted by the School of Foreign Languages of the university, was held from July 15 to 16 in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, in Northwest China.
More than 20 well-known experts from home and abroad, and more than 100 young scholars from some 40 Chinese and foreign universities attended the event and exchanged cutting-edge academic views and the latest research results in the fields of culture, language and literature.
At the opening ceremony, Chen Jianyou, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of NPU, delivered a speech on behalf of the school, saying that the conference will provide a platform for experts and scholars around the world to conduct exchanges, share ideas and cooperate. The school will take this opportunity to strengthen exchanges with universities and academic institutions at home and abroad, and contribute to the high-quality development of foreign language and literature disciplines and the training of outstanding foreign language talents.
At the meeting, experts focused on teaching methods, linguistics, teacher’s education development, cross-cultural communication and other topics, and shared their research results and academic views.
Since its launch in 2015, eight sessions of the conference have been successfully held in Malaysia, Singapore and China's Taiwan, aiming to promote academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of foreign language and literature, and to create an international academic community for culture, language and literature research.
